In order to assist with treatment of patients, and reduce the risk of community transmission of Covid-19, Vermont Medical Clinic will be offering Telehealth and Telephone appointments.

Video Consultation

Telehealth via Video

Telehealth video consultations are face to face video consultations with your doctor.

 

You need a smartphone, tablet or notebook computer with a built-in front camera or a desktop computer with a webcam, and an internet connection.

 

BOOK When making a booking by phoning or online, you may choose or be directed by staff to make a telehealth booking. This is appropriate for any consultation where a hands-on examination is not essential. It is essential that your email address is active.

PREPARE Before your first telehealth consultation it is a good idea to allow fifteen minutes to get the connection sorted out. Most connections simply use the latest Chrome or Safari browsers or if these are not available on your mobile device use the buttons below the get the Coviu mobile app for your device.

ARRIVE When your appointment is due you can either click on your doctor’s room link above or wait for your doctor to send an email invitation to their online consulting room.

Once connected the consultation proceeds as normal. Prescriptions will usually be faxed, posted or both. They cannot be emailed yet.

The doctor will bulk-bill eligible consultations (see below) or you will need to pay by credit card if not eligible.

Telephone Consultations

Telephone consultations are simply a medical phone call with your doctor.

BOOK When making a booking by phoning or online, you may choose or be directed by staff to make a booking for a telephone consultation. You may also be directed to a telephone consultation if ringing for results or requesting a prescription. This is appropriate for any consultation where a hands-on examination is not essential.

CHECK It is essential that our records for your telephone numbers are accurate, that you specify which number to call. Make sure that your phone is charged and with you at the time of your appointment.

BE READY Your doctor will ring you at the time of your appointment. Please be patient as doctors can be delayed despite their best attempts to run on time.
